​Our Story



When we got married we never thought that on our 1 year anniversary we would be pushing pause on our current life, and moving to Mexico. One thing we've learned throughout life is that Our God is a Great God. He moves in ways that are higher than we know or understand. On March 22, 2013, I received a facebook message from Jan Millsaps. Jan's husband, Greg, was my middle school teacher back in the day. We've always kept in touch, but when I saw that message flash across the screen, I could never have guessed what God had in mind for us. Jan linked us up with a couple named Andrew and Gena Thomas.  Gena and Andrew co-founded and own "The Owl." Also known as, "El Buho." Gena and Andrew served an international climbing community and local Mexican community of Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Their outreach extended to a smaller town of Mission as well, where Andrew and Gena were involved with building a middle school to help get kids off the street and out of the lures of difficult paths such as drug trafficking. We have had the amazing opportunity to pick up where they've left off and to do it all for the Glory of God. We finished our first season starting October 1, 2013 and are excited for what's to come this next season.
